SHEVA at a Glance
Sheva Nari O Shishu Kallyan Kendra (SHEVA) is a leading non-profit, non-governmental development organization in Bangladesh, established in 1991 with a vision of creating a society where women, children, workers, and marginalized communities can live with dignity, equality, and opportunity.
For more than three decades, SHEVA has been working at the grassroots and institutional levels to address poverty, gender inequality, child welfare, labor rights, social justice, and sustainable livelihoods. Through innovative programs and strategic partnerships, the organization has empowered thousands of women, supported vulnerable children, strengthened workers’ rights, and contributed to the socio-economic development of communities across Bangladesh.
SHEVA is registered with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs (MOWCA), the NGO Affairs Bureau, and the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA). The organization has earned a reputation for integrity, professionalism, and impactful service delivery.
Our work spans a wide range of development sectors, including microfinance, women’s economic empowerment, child development, legal aid, skills training, labor rights, social compliance, community health, disaster response, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). Through its microfinance operations, SHEVA provides financial services that help low-income women and small entrepreneurs build sustainable livelihoods and improve their quality of life.
SHEVA is also recognized for its pioneering role in workplace child care services, labor standards monitoring, worker wellbeing programs, and social compliance initiatives within Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector. The organization has successfully collaborated with national and international partners to promote ethical business practices, decent work, gender equality, and community resilience.
Over the years, SHEVA has developed strong partnerships with government agencies, development organizations, international NGOs, corporate entities, financial institutions, and civil society organizations. These collaborations have enabled the organization to expand its reach and create lasting positive impact for vulnerable populations.
